JAKE BENNETT

Jake grew up in New Jersey, earned his B.A. from Amherst College and his MBA from Columbia University.

Between degrees, Jake served in an elite unit of the Golani Brigade in the IDF and spent three years in investment management. After his MBA, Jake founded and ran a company manufacturing military and sport eye protection, during which time he was active in the AJC, Global Round Table of B'nai B'rith and the National Security Roundtable.

Jake is the Executive Director of the Anti-Defamation League's Arizona Regional Office.
He currently lives in Phoenix with his family.


STEPHEN GLASSMAN

Stephen has been an educator at the BJE’s Hebrew High School since 1997.

Mr. G earned degrees in Business Administration and in History at the University of Massachusetts.
He served in the United States army during the Vietnam Conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service.

In 2002, Mr. Glassman founded Students Supporting Brain Tumor Research (SSBTR). It has become the largest student run non-profit organization in the state of Arizona. Mr. G has also taught history at Horizon and Pinnacle High schools.


DAPHNA GOLD

Daphna is a native of Israel who has been a Hebrew and Judaic teacher for over 18 years. She has been teaching both children and adults in a variety of settings such as Religious schools, Jewish Day School, and a Language School.

She holds a Master degree in Social Work and has been trained in current Hebrew curricula.
She is married with two adult daughters. She loves traveling, cooking and reading.


ANDRE IVORY

Andre is a dynamic Jewish educator with 17 years of dedicated service to the Jewish community. Specializing in experiential Jewish education.

Andre has served congregations and Jewish institutions in his hometown of Los Angeles, Toronto and Phoenix.

Andre’s commitment to the Jewish community is driven by his love for the values he learned: Torah, Avodah, and G’milut Chasadim.

Every day, Andre strives to impart these values on the adults and teens he instructs.
Currently, Andre serves as Outreach Coordinator for the Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Phoenix.


EREZ KESSLER


Erez is a familiar face for anyone who has attended Shemesh Day Camp at the VOSJCC where he has worked as a music specialist for many years.

Erez brings his Hebrew skills and musical talent to many programs as well as to Hebrew High.


JESSICA LEVIN
M.A., L.A.C

Jessica is currently the Aleinu Coordinator/ Clinician at Jewish Family and Children’s Service.

Jessica received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of San Diego, and has worked in the mental health field since 2007 as a high needs case manager, youth and family consultant, education consultant and specializes in working with children and adolescents.

As an education consultant, she worked with schools and students teaching leadership and mentoring programs. Jessica enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends as well as maintains an active lifestyle.


DAVID NACH

David is a Phoenix native, and is also an alumni of Hebrew High, graduated from the U of A with Honors and received his law degree from Arizona State University. He also completed a one-year General Course program at the London School of Economics in between college and law school.

After completing his legal studies, Mr. Nach attended the World Union of Jewish Students Institute in Arad, Israel; his experience at WUJS was the motivating factor to join our faculty in 1994.

Mr. Nach is currently a full-time high school Social Studies teacher who specializes in Economics and Criminal Justice.


FRAN RICHTER

Fran has her masters’ degree in Jewish Education.

In addition to teaching beginning Hebrew at Hebrew High, she teaches an online Hebrew course for a California religious school, and World Religions at Glendale Community College.

Fran has been the educational director of 3 religious schools and has studied both in the states and in Israel.
On a personal note, Fran's 4 year old grandson, Jacob, is the light of her life.

CHAIM ZIMMERMAN

Chaim is an experienced Torah teacher, who has taught in day schools, Hebrew Highs and NCSY -- all in Cleveland, OH.

He has published many study guides for NCSY and Torah Umesorah.  

Chaim is a graduate with honors from San Diego State University.
