A retrospective examining the creative ways that musicals have impacted social justice, mores, and still challenge the status quo. All that while bringing artistic beauty to the stage.
Cantor Koritan will examine the music, the creative teams, and the reactions of such musicals as, Berlin’s “As Thousands Cheer,” Blitzstein’s “The Cradle Will Rock,” “Hair,” “Hamilton,” and the often subtle but pointed musicals of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Kern, Brooks, and Sondheim. Songs will be performed in class by the instructor, guest performers, and on video. All materials provided by instructor
Tuesdays beginning October 9 through November 13 from 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
