Founding Fathers: Visionaries of the Future

  • Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus 12701 North Scottsdale Road Scottsdale, AZ, 85254 United States (map)

For over 200 years the Founding Fathers have been models for Americans and the world. Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Hamilton, Franklin, and all of the Founders were an exceptional generation of leaders who not only fought the War of Independence, but created a new form of governance that we live by to this day. This course provides an opportunity to explore what is only briefly taught in high school or college. From the French and Indian War to the inauguration of George Washington, we will explore the Founders emergence as leaders, their discontent with and within the British Empire, the basis of their  philosophy, the roots of their concepts of government, and their ability to work through, to compromise, and resolve the complicated issues that created the United States of America.
